Nativity Silhouette

I guess the title pretty much sums it up.  I bought the frame for five dollars at Walmart.  Took the back out and used E6000 to glue the glass to the frame on the backside.  Just a little sidenote about the E6000 glue – I bought that stuff last week and I have used it a ton since then.  Where has it been all my life?  I glued the little hangy thingys back onto ornaments, I used it to glue the white rubber thingys back onto the door stoppers that Maddy pulled off (potential choking hazard!), and all sorts of stuff.  So back to the nativity picture –  then I used my Silhouette to cut out the nativity scene onto vinyl and stuck it onto the glass.  Tada! A fancy schmancy Christmas decoration for notalotta money!

This is just beautiful! I hadn’t thought of using that glue to make a floating frame, now the creative wheels are spinning!! Can I ask where you found the nativity?

Thanks Tamra! The nativity is a download that I got off of Silhouette’s website. You have to have a silhouette to get access to their downloads. I’m sure you could find a cute on one google images though. Thanks for the nice comments!

I’ve been having a very hard time finding a picture on google images. Any way I could pay for you to print out the silhouette you used and ship it out? If so, please email me! Thanks.

I’m confused. I have a cricut but am clueless as to how to do this. Is it a cartridge or do I hook my cricut upto the computer or what? I’ve been searching for this nativity since last year. Please help me. Thanks

Hi Mickie. I have a silhouette machine. With the silhouette you download your images off of their website. You can’t have access to the part of their website with the images unless you have a silhouette though. Sorry for any confusion.

I love this! We just got a Silhouette, so I can’t wait to make a bunch of them for Christmas. Just wondering, what was your method for applying the E6000? I just tried it on one frame, and the glue squeezed out onto the glass, so I had to clean them both immediately. Would using small dots along the inside of the frame be enough to permanently hold the glass? Thank you!
