Coupon Crazy

I apologize for being such a slacker blogger!  When I get a few minutes to be on the computer I am always looking at coupon blogs and printing out coupons for my next shopping trip – so I haven’t had much time for blogging!  After a few months of coupon shopping I am getting my food storage pantry built up a little bit.

There’s a whole lot more in my regular pantry in the kitchen, this is just the hallway where I keep all the excess.  It’s fun to go shopping and fill up a cart of groceries and not spend hardly anything for it.  I wish I would have never stopped couponing after Macey was born – just thinking about how much money I could have saved during those years drives me nuts.  But, onwards and upwards! I’m doing good at saving money now and that’s all that matters.  One of my favorite things is the bin of toiletries we have in the bathroom.

Everything was free or under a dollar (like the pull-up wipes were sixty cents a piece, but they are awesome for the diaper bag because I don’t have a whole huge wipes container in there) and the deodorants were twenty cents or so.  Not pictured is all the free pantyliners and regular size toothpastes I have.  So that’s what I’ve been up to lately.  I need to find some balance though and get making some more cute bows and quilts and things.  Thanks for sticking around and hopefully I’ll get some fun posts up soon!

I’ve been watching Extreme Couponing on TLC and really want to get started! Where do you print your coupons from? Any tips for getting started?

Hi Briana! coupons.com is one of the sites that comes to mind right now for printing coupon out. Where do you live? If you are in Utah or Idaho I know a lot of great websites that can help you get started. pinchingyourpennies.com is great and couponmom.com is okay. Unfortuntely where I live I can’t really “extreme coupon” because stores around here don’t double coupons and the coupons that come in the newspaper aren’t quite as good as they are in other areas – but that doesn’t mean I can’t get a few good deals here and there and save some money. 🙂 If you can find a grocery store that doubles then you should be able to get some great stuff for free!

I live in Nebraska and unfortunately I don’t have any coupon doubling stores either! I will definitely check out the websites you mentioned…I’m ready to start scoring some good deals! Thanks for the great advice!

Look at you!! Awesome! Its hard to keep up with it so don’t be hard on yourself about taking a break after Macey was born. I’ve gotten into a slump where I haven’t been doing much of it lately, it was really fun and exciting at first but then I just got tired. Need to get back on it though. Balance is everything. And it would help if I had space to store it all! Someday!! 🙂

Hey Mariesa, Couponing gets me excited!! It’s too bad that Utah stores don’t double or triple, but Albertson’s comes out with double your coupon, coupons. For example, like for this week they have it in their ads. I love Rite Aid & Walgreens when they have up rewards and register rewards on stuff that you buy on a regular basis. It’s like walking away with a cart full of thing for free, literally. I’m just so exited about couponing, can you tell!!!! I’m getting better and the savings are getting larger and that’s the exciting part. I love looking at my stockpile/food storage and see it grow and be able to give things away to people who are in need. Great Job in your success in savings!!!

That’s soo great Kristy!! It is fun – almost like a game to see how much you can get for not-a-lotta! It does feel good to have a stockpile of necessities!! I wish you had a blog – you have a lot of fun things you could share (hawaiian recipes and all sorts of stuff). Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I hope all is well with you and your family!
